We don’t usually indulge in the iPhone apps market here at Future Blogging, but our love for football has got the better of us!
Nike has launched a new application for the popular Apple phone, featuring two of the world’s best footballers Cesc Fabregas and Andres Iniesta, as part of a digital programme aimed at younger players.
Digital AKQA, a digital agency who work with Nike on their online and mobile marketing campaigns, launched the Soccer+ app as part of a strategy to promote the brand’s CTR360 Maestri boot.
Including video tutorials and tips from two Spanish stars, Arsenal captain Fabregas and Barcelona favourite Iniesta, many kids will be eager to download the app in order to improve their own ability. With tricks aimed at improving aspects such as ball control, accuracy and speed, the campaign looks like it will be an effective way to promote their new product.
The new app follows on from the success of last year’s Nike Soccer+ app, Bootcamp, which was released in May 2008 and included mobile video training.
Nike continue creating exhilarating video content using some of the best footballers on the world stage, maintaining their stance as the leading global sports brand.
Stefan Olander, global brand connections director for Nike, said, “We’re bridging the gap between the physical and digital world to give soccer players a competitive edge and inspire them through new experiences.”
