Starting in America before arriving in the UK next month, the project emphasizes the importance of brand identity online. With a launch cost of £61 million, Yahoo are hoping the impact will influence the way users interact on the web.
Through the phenomenal success of social sites like Facebook and Twitter, there is a demand to present a better social outlook elsewhere on the net.
Yahoo will introduce a new slogan “It’s Y!ou” which relates to the traditional brand logo. Example ads will highlight messages such as “The Internet has a new personality: Yours”, and “The Internet is under new management: Yours”, demonstrating the world of digital media.
The internet is rapidly becoming a fundamental platform to help people keep in touch. The web offers easy, convenient portals for communications through both a personal and business level.
With the current rate of progression, face-to-face business meetings and deals may soon be unheard of, even job interviews may have a place online in a bid to keep up trend.
Elisa Steele, the executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Yahoo!, said: “Our vision is to be at the centre of people’s lives, to be at the place where their world meets the larger world. Our new brand strategy shows our commitment to delivering personally relevant online experiences.”
